Do i have too many?

guess OP isn't much of a collector if he thinks 24 games is alot.

I WOULD have too many PSP/PSX games on my PSP if any of the damn things worked. Tales of Eternia is the latest to be a bitch...Gives me a red 'now loading' message, my power meter (which can't possibly be accurate) and does nothing.

Just a side note, but having many games in Vietnam means nothing. You'd get Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3987327638732 (Yeah, well, hypothetical stuff) for 10.000 Vietnam Dong, which is barely a dollar oO

But it's not original then. If you burn them yourself they're even cheaper.

All consoles, my SD card can only hold 80 right now cause I don't trim them, so take away 80 and 287 across all the other consoles.

24 games isn't a lot for an entire collection, but 24 games in 4 months? That's 6 games per month, so unless you're finishing a game every 5 days, or it turns out you don't like a lot of the games you've purchased, then yes it's too much. Maybe you're buying older, cheaper games? If you're buying new titles at $59.99 a pop, then it's ridiculous. You'll find that game's you paid 60 bucks for are selling for $30 by the time you actually get around to playing them.

Yeah, but pirated games don't count. Hell, half this board probably has close to 500 games on their hard drives that never get played. A Vietnamese silver disc is no better. If you've got 5 original games, and 234 Vietnamese bootlegs, then you've got.... 5.
If you pay full price for a game, not only are you actually supporting the developers, but you're almost guaranteed to appreciate the game more and are far, far more likely to actually play it through.

If we're not counting pirated games that takes care of all but one of my DS games. But if we're including games that are in the house but not necessarily owned by the one posting (IE: my old man's collection) then that restores the balance for me. He plays games to cut down on how much he smokes now that he's unemployable. Works for me, means I get access to the latest and greatest games without expending a penny, and yet not resorting to piracy

I can promise you I've played through more pirated games than I have the ones I own legally.
Some games bore me too much to play and a pirated game is much easier to get rid of.

If you have the money, you'd be surprised at how many games you can own in 4 months.
To me, it isn't very much at all, but to others, it may be. To each their own opinion.

Right, but you've played through more pirated games because you've had ACCESS to more pirated games. It still surely would have been more satisfying (at least for the majority) if you had actually purchased them. If a title is released that you've been dying for, and you have no money, then sure you'll download it and play the hell out of it (Super Mario Galaxy 2 in my case).... but if you like it enough, it should certainly be added to your legitimate collection. And the majority of downloads are games that people don't actually have that much interest in anyway, and as you said, they're much, much easier to get rid of after 10 minutes play. This is often unfortunate, because it's easy to hit the delete button before realizing that if you'd given the game a little more of your time, it may have turned out to be an absolute gem. This is very similar to pirating music. It's easy to give a pirated album a quick listen and dispose of it as garbage if it's not catchy enough to keep your interest in the first few minutes, but if you'd actually purchased said album, you may listen to it long enough to discover something deeply layered that may turn out to be a favorite for a lifetime.

Agreed. It IS a lot to me, and I do indeed spend too much (2 to 3 new release titles per month; more if you count those that I wait for a price drop on and low-cost downloadable titles).

And while I stand on my pedestal, I must admit that I download too many pirated titles to count. I just always find the purchased ones manage to hold my interest longer, as well as fit the context of this thread better.

How in the world did that make sense? If you had read my posts, I actually have access to more LEGAL games that I bought myself or my father bought me.
So unfortunately, I'd have to disagree with you.

A pirated game, I could delete and retrieve all over again.
A legal game, once it's sold, I'd have to spend more money to retrieve it once again.

Right, but if you deleted said pirated game after 10 minutes of play, chances are you WON'T download it again. If you bought it, the likelihood is high that you'd suck it up and play a bit more of it before determining the game is garbage and quitting (this doesn't apply when dad does all the purchasing... wait 'til you're out on your own and money actually matters). Hell, if everybody had unlimited funds, then piracy wouldn't exist in the first place. I'm just saying, a lot of games just get tossed by the wayside due to downloads being such throw-away commodities. Secondly, if you've got plenty of money to go around, then why would you ever sell games from your collection to begin with? Especially if you plan on even the possibility of purchasing them again?
