NEW AND IMPROVED VERSION AT POST #21

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN MAY I NOW PRESENT SINKHEAD'S HOME MADE AIR-CONDITIONING UNIT.

Because I'm too poor to afford a proper one.

It's made from some sellotape, an old PC fan, a Jaffa Cakes tray and cardboard.

DID I DO WELL, GBATEMP?

It would if the fan gave off any more than a feeble breeze. I think it's helping a little bit, I can feel the cold air from about an inch away from the opening. This sellotape is really bad though, so there's holes all over the funnel. I might make a proper version using a K-NEX frame... Hmm.

Unfortunately not because I took my Dad's surname instead of my Mother's :(

THAT'S AWESOME! Good work, man. I'm really impressed by what you did there.

I wish you could of made me one when ours was broked'd earlier in the summer.

This means that if you had a more powerful fan... Mmmmh... Cheap air conditioning...

You might be on the right track for big bucks, sink B-)

That's awesome! I need one of those, since my room is burning hot all the time...

EDIT: I just made one...Lol...If only the fan blew the air faster. It works great though, as in I can feel the coolness from the water and the air.

maby wrap the cardboard in TIN FOIL or CLING FILM to seal it better :)

WARNING .........If you use TIN FOIL .....just dont touch BARE WIRES on it :P lol

or maby use DUCT tape to make better seals if you have any :)

Yeah, I think I'll do that next time. Or something involving a kitchen toll tube... Or a small plastic box with a hole cut in each end, this would be by far the most efficient way to do it.

This one's really effective and it actually works. The only problem is that it needs new ice every so often. I think I might fill the base with ice and stick it in the freezer overnight so the whole thing is frozen!
