First night at college

So school hasn't actually started yet, but I've got a job at my university as tech support, so we all got to move in early.
I don't have a roommate at the moment
(He moves in on Thursday)
So I'm playing some music out loud which is pretty awesome.
The room is small, but It's not bad.
Got the good side of the room
(The one without the AC over the bed)
And I've already polluted it with my relatively inappropriate posters of Elfen Lied and Death Note, as well as a Bleach poster
(from the first season)
But I'm kinda depressed my big pillow didn't make it.
As well as a stuffed octopus that my friends gave me for my birthday.
(They fell off the car on the way over)
(I almost cried)
(I didn't though)
I'll have to buy a new one to preserve the memory of the past one.
I loved sleeping with it, it was so soft!
Well, anyway, Sunday was the last day I hung with my friends.
We had a mini party, and it was a good time.
Yesterday I went out with my parents and brother one last time,
And today I'm alone in my dorm.
Though we did go out to eat with all the tech support people.
Then went bowling.
It was a good day.
Nobody cried when we said our goodbyes, though I must say, I was kinda sad.
I think I'll miss my friends the most, but even then it's not that bad.
I live about 2-3 hours away, and they're gonna make the trip down at least once a month (probably)
Not that I won't have friends here, but I wanna see my friends that made this summer awesome more often than not.
And come on, I'll be talking to them daily too.
But it'll be fun.
Classes start Monday, and training for the job is tomorrow and Thursday.
The weekend will either be spent working or hanging with my friends down here.
I know I'll miss the old crew, but gotta hang with some new people too.
Wish me luck peeps, and good luck to everyone else going to college or high school or doing wutever wherever!
Peace!

You better get a female roommate before the year ends or we will be disappointed in you.

Heh, well we'll see how it goes.
Not that I'm terribly in need of a girlfriend, but I wouldn't mind having a relationship.
(Not that she can be my roommate though)
But we'll see.
Man, gotta take a shower now.
Gonna take a while to get used to that.

I don't plan on living in dorms if I go to Uni.
I'd rather live at my own house where I don't have to cook.

+1. Get ready for the weirdest, yet greatest year of your life.

Look at the bright side, you are not an Israeli, therefore you don't serve 3 years on the army to the country you nearly HATE, that's what expects me in 2 months, that's just after high school

Nice man. I actually move into my dorm tomorrow. I will live like an hour away from my parents. I already know who my roommate is though, we decided a month ago.

Classes start for me on Monday though...

Gosh... Sorry to hear it.

I'll never be bummed about not getting into my college of choice after reading that.

Korea is in the same boat, if that makes you feel any better.
and probably other places.

Pro Tip: Keep your door open.

Unless you're antisocial, in which case keep it shut and locked.

Make sure you close it at night, unless you want some fun photos showing up on Facebook the next day.

Yeah, I know about keeping it open.
I won't be around this weekend much cuz I've got work.
I'm tech support along with 4 other people and we're just gonna be in the computer lab from noon till 6 every day helping people get set up and such.
It wasn't too bad today, though.
Helped 2 people.
I think I got one guy's interwebs working and I went up to a girl's dorm and it took me like 30 mins to get set up but I felt like a god when it finally worked.
Not that I'll ever see this girl again, but wuuuuuutever, it was a decent experience.
They weren't total noobs, it kinda gets complicated at times.
Some programs didn't show up as uninstalled so I had to delete it manually off the computer and registry.
(Not sure if I should have or not, but wut do they know?)
(And it worked, so it was all good)
But yeah.

Nice. I going to be a Senior this year, and college sounds sweet. The only thing is I'm going to be staying at home, because it's too much money to stay on campus.

Good luck, but I think it was a bad decision to put those posters up now. I would have waited until you get to know your room mate better (Or atleast meet him). You were probably eager to customize your dorm and stuff, but personally, I hate anime. If I saw those posters, I wouldn't be mad, but I would think I wouldn't have anything in common right from the start.

I don't know, that's just my personal opinion. I'm sure I would have put up posters right away too, but it doesn't really matter.

wait wait wait the octopus fell off? god dammit

I've told her.
She was sad.
