Play games mostly. It's not really a multimedia device, it's more of a gaming device.
If you have a flashcart you can play music, watch videos (that are properly converted), browse the web (you can do this without a flashcart if you have the Opera cart/RAM expansion or a DSi), homebrew, a few other tricks, but it's nothing too spectacular in terms of features.
You can buy video games, flashcards, custom skins (or paint it), or even play video games on it.
In some cases you can use it to listen to music and watch videos

dose anybody know how to use the dos box on ds i get to where i type in stuff like the one on windows i tried to open games same as i do on windows 7 but i can not work it out anybody got a tutorial?

I may try the new ram site, and download more RAM to my Switch. Not sure if ddr3 is the right ram
for it tho. Edit- no it uses floppy Ram, just like @AncientBoi
