2011 in Review
It wasn't a bad year, just a spectularly unproductive one. I got some of my courses finished, but I screwed up my schedule so much that I will probably have to get things done in another expensive year of university. Oh well. It also means that I will have to deal with another batch of roommates (yes, call me antisocial...so?).

I wasn't very nice to my girlfriend - I spent more time doing things on my own. I seriously need to have a cyber date with her - once in a while. *sigh* It's hard to balance mental health, gaming, courseload and friends and family... Well, at least I know what happened with that and how to fix it, right?

Notable Events in 2011:
- February: My girlfriend had just finished a crash course in tattooing. I wanted another tattoo - the ouroboros tattoo from Full Metal Alchemist (minus the Star of David), although. It was done on my ankle, and swelled up to horrible proportions. (It was so freaking swollen that the tattoo disappeared.) I think it was either a reaction to the red ink, or the ointment that my girlfriend gave me. Oh well, time will tell if that was a reaction to the ink or the ointment, as I'm going to get her to touch up the tattoo again.

- August: My bff got married for the second time! She's awesome, and she rocked out that dress. Seriously. I attended as maid of honor - imagine walking into the rehersel dinner and not knowing anyone except your bff. Fucking nerve-racking. Also, her husband's brother is a religious nut and glared at me for the longest time at the bridal party.

- Sometime in the Summer: My dad having a severe heart attack while out at the racetrack. I was home that day (thank the gods). The hospital installed a stent in his heart, and got him back on his feet after a couple of weeks. It was still freaking heart stopping to get that phone call from the hospital. The funny thing is my dad actually called me back from the hospital after the event to tell me and my mother not to come. I love him, but he's a weirdo.

- September: Back at school, I moved in with four other girls. (The standard townhouse style dorms at my university.) I noticed that one of them was extremely unstable, and you know, uni life is a pressure cooker for even the most even individuals. One afternoon, I came back home to see my other roommates panicking - the unstable woman had not returned for the night. We spent an evening panicking and phoning around to see if anyone had heard from her - nobody did. Until we get a message from our RA/Don that she was admitted to the local big hospital, about fourty minutes away from the school. The RA/Don goes to see her one night, and he's turned away - we all think that it was a serious case of mental health issues. (Big unlocal hospital + triage for speciality services + no guests + past behaviour - pretty damn severe problems.) Anyhow, to make a long story short - she appeared again after the big event, just before final exams. Poor girl - I hope she makes it.

- October: My uni hosts a gay-straight alliance called "B____k Pride". It's not bad, and every month, we have an event. During October, we usually have a potluck party, but this time, the admin were stuck catering to the event. (Pasta, sauce, and pastries. Pretty tasty.) Why was this an event? It was because we were at the gay/lesbian club and alcohol was served as well. My friend (who is a terrible lightweight!) drank five (5) fruity martinis and couldn't even prop her head up. I was also tipsy, but not completely out of it - I had to drag her downstairs and into a cab. The worst part - her parents were waiting on her at home. Most terrifying evening of my life - also, I ended up dressed as Ness - my non-gamer friends were so confused.

Good resolutions, good luck keeping them, you should post like a monthly status on those.

Great post too, fun to read!
Good to hear your dad is OK. Go Ness!
