I don't know about you, but I've always liked having Thunderbird as my favorite email client. I love having it startup when I boot windows, and have it startup minimized in the tray. After Thunderbird 3, this was almost impossible to do. It made me give up on Thunderbird completely. However, I have returned to find it has been updated to version 11! With this I tried using it again, however, I found no clear method to return it to the settings I liked. I found an add-on called Minimize On Start and Close which let's you start up Thunderbird minimize as well as minimizing it by pressing the close (X) button. Problem here was that it only minimizes to the taskbar, and NOT the tray. Unhappy, I uninstalled the add-on and came across another one called MinimizeToTray Revived. This add-on let's you minimize the program to the tray. That's it. At this point I was like "FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU-". however I remembered that Windows has a folder called startup, where you can put any shortcut from any program and have it startup on Windows boot. Now here is where I experimented. I put a shortcut of Thunderbird into the startup folder. Restarted my PC to make sure it worked, and sure enough, it started. Perfect. Now I re-installed the old Minimize On Start and Close add-on. I restarted Thunderbird and VOILA! It started up minimized in the tray! I now have it set to startup minimized in the tray at boot!
I hope people out there find this useful. I googled like crazy to find info like this but to no avail, so I hope others google and come across this...
Now if there was a way to play around like this with a good Twitter Desktop App....![unsure  ](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
