GTA5 - Most likely finish it by the end of the week.

A while ago I posted about having bought a copy of GTA5 on nearly every console and PC I have...but never really finishing it! That was on march 9 this year and I did actually play GTA5 for a little while from about 40% to 47% in about a week and posted about it here. Then I got distracted again and did not play much for various reasons and even had my PS4 disconnected since the end of april I think! Last Sunday I hooked it up again to check on my progress and it was at 51%.

Now I have been playing the game again like a crazy person since I challenged my cousin for a race to see who could reach 100% the first. Over the last few days we shared pictures of our progress but she is gaining on my fast! When I challenged her Sunday she was at 33% and now she is already at 56%!!! She has way more time to play than me and deep down I know she will probably beat me to it...but that does not mean I am going to hand over the victory to her that easily::D

While the missions from the main story line are challenging and getting harder obviously, I think the hardest thing is going to be getting those "random events" and "Miscellaneous" missions to trigger. We agreed to not cheat with walkthroughs or youtube to see what is where. Or actually she already didn't...so it was just me saying I would not do it during our challenge. hahaha^_^

Looks like I am finally going to finish a game to 100% for once! :D

Not sure which collectables you are talking about, I only remember those from San Andreas and I think Vice City. Don't remember if GTA3 had them too.

For now I just focus on getting this screen to show 100% :D

I was playing San Andreas the last time I played a GTA game. I'll have to finish that up at some point.

Doing a blind 100% completion on GTA V is tough, to complete every misc encounters without looking up where/& when they trigger is a long trial process (wouldn't recommmend, as looking up on YT to see how they trigger is not cheating). Also the challenges like flying under the bridge, stunt jumps etc.. It just a hassle IMO, you need to know the when/where to save you time that's it. I stopped i think at 97/98% or something back when i played it on 360, the ones that were left i think some stunt jumps? And some property to bought, the character didn't have enough cash at the moment(i missed the stock glitch in the story line).

If a guide or walkthrough becomes a necessity after 95% I am sure we'll use it. Already had to "bend the rules" a little to find a firestation to get the firetruck required for the FIB mission. At least she also had trouble finding it...so I told her to look near Micheal's house. :rofl2:

Finished the main story missions and the latest score is 78% vs 75% with me in the lead! :D ...(for now at least :rofl2:)

I picked option C by the way :P

Small update on this: I lost the challenge....although she is not at 100% yet she is at 84% now and I am still at 78% :shy:.

You were all right about needing a guide for the collectibles! Even with a guide showing the location and a hint of where the spaceship parts are...we had trouble finding them! After about 8 I was bored already and stopped it! But finding these things without any guide......damn near impossible! You would need to explore every corner of the massive map to find them! And it's not like they show up when you get near them or something! Like the flamingo's and graffiti do in NFS Heat....the next game we are going to literally race each other for:rofl2::rofl2:

I totally forgot those ('been quite some time..), there' s the UFO parts and some are under water IIRC.. It's a mess, being a large ass map is no help either, and wandering without any indication that you're close to the object (like you said) it's just a massive waste of time , as no matter how hard you try you'd still miss some. Then a guide is you're only chance.
BTW, talking about racing games for Forza Horizon games, there are barn car finds that are fun to go and find because they're a few, 10 at most, there's large landscapes makes it somewhat easy to look, and the barns have a distinct look so you know what to look for. Also there's the smashing billboards which are highlighted on the map, which again make easy than to search through the whole map dozen times if you missed a few ones.. Etc. Stuff like this should've been implemented, unstead of going like: oh, hey there's 100 of these things you have to find and good luck in finding them by yourself- type of challenge.
