Non-funded halfway home

As some may know, I've been running a halfway home for less fortunate kids and teenagers, to give them a place to gather and enjoy some things that many of us take for granted.

These things include videogames, holiday celebrations and help with education etc etc..

This morning at arrival I found the front door smashed in and the place ransacked. :(

We suffered a hard blow as someone had stolen everything we built up for the last 5 years.

After filing a report and waiting for the police to finish their scene investigation, I'm now in the process of rebuilding what I can.

I've decided to take everything I own from my apartment except my bed and have this place up and running again before sunset. All my personal furniture and decorations, including my game consoles and whatever food I can gather will be transported to the halfway home today.

This has been a hard lesson in the human ways of disrespect against its fellow man.

Dude, that really sucks. Having your own personal items stolen is one thing but to steal from a place/someone that gives and helps to those in need? Now that's just heartless at all. Hopefully, they find anything that leads to the thief/thieves and arrest them and get what was stolen back.

One could only hope. The officer said that it looked like someone who's done this before. No fingerprints where found, and they disabled my security before stealing it. Only good thing is that the security comes with an insurance, so they will come and install a new one next week.

Until then I'll be living there to keep an eye on it.

All stuff from my apartment is finally transported to the halfway home. No it's time to unpack and tidy up a bit.

Some of the older kids, the few that doesn't suffer from to great disabilities, have come to join me in the attempt to restore our sanctuary.

Finally we're finished. All cleaned up and all new stuff unpacked. :)

The last kids went home 7 hours ago, but since I'll be making this my temporary home, until the new security system gets installed, I decided to push on..

I literally took everything but my bed from my apartment and put it here. And it feels sooo good. :D

Now the less fortunate have a safe and fun place again. :)

That is some true dedicatition. Props to you dude, I hope everything works out for you and the kids you're doing this for.

I'll never give up on those less fortunate. I'd give my life for each and every one of them. What's mine is theirs. :)

Now I think I'll try and get some sleep, tho.. Got a long day ahead of me tomorrow. :)

Today we finally got the new security installed. 15.000$ USD in total spent to secure our haven.

Got my bank to sign a new loan to fund it. Picking up a second job to be able to meet the monthly payments, but it's totally worth it. :)

As long as the kids and those less fortunate has a place to gather, play and feel at home...well... then I'm happy. :)

Next up is a Switch for them to enjoy. :) And my home made Arcade cabinet powered by an OG Xbox will be donated to the communal Youth-center. :)

    I went to auction at a mom/pops video game store few months ago that was closing, and bought 11 slims for $200, 1 was DOA but 10 work fine. so hella deal. Already rgh3'ed 8 of them. But most younger kids don't even want anymore, unless it plays stupid "fortnight", or newer shit.
