Status Update 2 (more mini reviews)

This virus needs to end, it has ruined people’s lives and taken away something that makes people happy from everyone.

That being said, more video games :/

Yakuza 6: I originally wanted this just to play the final (although maybe not based on recent news) Virtua Fighter game, but enjoyed the rest of the game as well. Did not like the new experience and battle systems. I am a little interested in Yakuza 7 now though.

Cities: Skylines - I knew this game would be super addictive and take up way too much time, and both of those things ended up being true. It’s a great game, but can’t find a lot of time to play.

Marvel VS Capcom: Infinite - This one was a no-brainer buy, but in order to get my two favorite characters (Venom and Black Panther), you need the character pass, which basically doubles the cost of the base game. Still, it’s very fun and worth $20, sad that they couldn’t add X-Men characters to get people more interested.

Other notes and things to look forward to (other than life as we know it continuing): A lot of people are excited about The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match because they have now implemented rollback netcode, but it is only on PC. I own the Steam version, but I no longer have a computer, so I’m unable to play (even when I did have a laptop, the graphics card had issues with the game). I love that game and all the characters, but sadly I’m stuck playing the old school version for Dreamcast.

I have been replaying Jet Set Radio (PS3 re-release), using a really crappy 3rd party controller to get that realistic Dreamcast experience. It’s a great game in all aspects, but definitely not for people who are used to really polished physics that are easy to get the hang of.

Finally, there is a new(ish) Densha De Go! game coming out! I believe this is a console release of the latest arcade game. I don’t look forward to much, but I have always wanted that game to be updated, and available for purchase at a reasonable price (like less than $100).

Yo, you aren't meaning to say that you skipped Yakuza 3-5 right to the end, now, are ya'? Because if you played those games first, it makes Yakuza 6...
all the more disappointing as a finale.

As for KOF2002UM, I'm sure even my shittops (laptops that you buy for $500 so you can do schoolwork at college and not much else) could run that game in particular. I'd rather play that version than the good, but holy hell, does it look bootleg as fuck original compared to KOF98/99/2000.

These lockdowns we've had to endure because of this virus, not to mention all of the masking requirements, makes it hard to communicate nonverbally and takes away facial expressions in a way that, even as someone who's on the autism spectrum like myself, I find myself missing. Maybe I just like seeing smiles, especially on the ladies' faces, but after having a relationship that ended in a girl dumping me after I parted ways with another girl due to that relationship having no future...it makes my personal and social life and the desire for such a thing less when I wanted, upon moving out, to try and meet and talk to people who are "normal." As in, I can talk how I want, have whatever tastes I like, and just be chill in general with them in a fashion not unlike the vibe a lot of people got from something like Super Best Friends Play.

On the bright side though, I just got the job I initially wanted to apply for earlier this year, and orientation for it begins in a few weeks, and since I told Target adios, I have free time like I've been internally crying for most of my year so far, and have taken care of the second largest bill of mine lately! I only got two more bills left, and after that, it's time to save up to get the fuck out of Illinois and to somewhere that isn't gonna raise the taxes by 20%!...or however much it's possibly gonna go up by.

I have played Yakuza 1, 2, 4 and 6 now. I thought 6 was fine, I’m not too obsessive with games and stories, I just want a little fun, which they all are.

And I have the money to buy the most expensive computer possible, but it’s not a good investment since I wouldn’t have much time to use it and my job is sitting in front of a computer all day as it is.
