And they will give no reason.

Yesterday, on April 14th, Eric, also known as PointCrow, uploaded this YouTube video.
Nintendo of America (yep, again) has sent two copyright strikes to PointCrow, and taken down 29 of his videos. Recently, PointCrow/Eric, "[has] modified The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to add multiplayer."

Nintendo have also taken down videos from other Zelda creators. such as Croton, and may have also copyright striked them. We do not know for sure, but maybe it's because of the mods?
PointCrow hopes to have Nintendo reverse the decision in time for the release of Tears of the Kingdom.
In Eric's own words: "Nintendo is sending [copyright] takedowns and strikes against the creators showing content of their games. It's sporatic, and their enforcement of copyright is incredibly uneven."

Hopefully, Nintendo will reverse the strikes. But we don't know yet...

For a very specific reason I think I'm going to wait to comment on this. My response could be neutral or negative.

And when was the last time massive companies cared about laws, especially ones as 'puny' as DMCA? Except to exploit those laws themselves, that is?

We’re talking about a plan which involves individuals filing false DMCAs. So by your own post it’s a bad idea since they can more easily sue someone for filing a false claim.

Even then, last week I saw a video by Leonard French where Youtube blocked a claim against him and he’s not a ’massive company’, so Youtube may likely just block any spurious claims against ‘massive companies’ anyway.

Don't normally see ROM hacks and such things bothered. How interesting. Though I imagine this is a fairly clear case of potentially misleading their customers (granted that is probably more in the trademark side of things), and is something quite a few footage usage guidelines from companies far less strict than Nintendo prohibit.

Having to deal with d-bag corporations doing d-bag corporation things just to enjoy art is pretty soul-draining.

@Xdqwerty there is health behaviour you can add to your character, then to use a health bar is lil more complicated, google n watch a few tutorial video on it, be too hard to explain here.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, the character has the health behavior
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I know you have to create a health and health max variable. Then there is a calculation you use in code to subtract width size of the health bar. Google few vids.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, the "greenflatbar" is one of the preset health bars btw
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea you can use any bar/sprite. It will just change the width. Ok good luck and have fun. I'm off to go shoot some pool at the bar. Talk to you later.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
