hey! i'm very late i know but i'm having issues with the program itself, i've tried to select the "Brlyt path" but upon selecting the folder with the .brlyt stuff inside, it just dosen't open it, and i've tried to run the app in compatibity mode with Windows 7 as well as setting up python in my computer but just keeps throwing the same error

the error itself is:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "main.py", line 587, in onDir
UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\xc1' in position 9: ordinal not in range(128)View attachment 405358
you have a non ascii character in the path that the program does not like
i think it is Á
if you move the ThemeCreatorPack folder out of that path it will work
try c:/ThemeCreatorPack/

the letter was replaced with a blank image in the base pack as most people replace the button with an image when making a theme they dont want an envelope on top of it

you can comment out the 5 lines for simg2007 in the mym.ini or just delete them and the envelope will be back

sorry no idea
the sounds in the wii menu are all in one file and we never had a editor that it would work with
we tried many times to change the sounds :(
There's a tutorial, it works, but one is being stubborn!

at the time when we were making themes there was no tools for it remember this was over 10 years ago

only way to revert the color changes is by replacing the brlyt file in the brlyt folder with a stock version from the base pack

if you know which file contains the change you want to revert then yes you can just replace that one file
otherwise you have to replace them all

if you tell me what it is you want to revert i can tell you the file
Just the home button, when you hold the blue button ya know?

Hello everyone, I recently tried my hand at making my first custom theme but I have some issues on which I would like some help, since there's no resources on how to make themes, I tried making a Zelda theme working on the Wii Base Theme pack but for some reason a grey square appears on the Board Icon, also changing the letter and memo texture doesn't seem to work as the Wii will display the default ones and there doesn't seem to be a way to edit the Calendar, most of the buttons in the home menu including the controller buttons, and the Base theme pack doesn't have a way to edit the text that says "Return to the Wii Menu" which causes it to always display as black. Can anyone explain me how to solve this issues?

I will upload images of what I described and the .mym file I made and a zip with the files I used to create it. (Mym and files are in the .7z)

Also my Wii is from US region and menu is 4.3

Thanks!

grey square appears on the Board Icon
this is a messed up my_IplTop_e.brlyt file - replace it with a fresh copy from the base pack and redo your colours
changing the letter and memo texture doesn't seem to work
I think it only changes them after they are posted to the board not when writing them i do not know where those parts are
there doesn't seem to be a way to edit the Calendar
no there is not a way in the base pack to edit the calendar and its a real pain to make it editable
most of the buttons in the home menu including the controller buttons
these would need custom brlyt edits to change their colours - I will try to get them added to the editor
the Base theme pack doesn't have a way to edit the text that says "Return to the Wii Menu"
there appears to be a bug in the editor as that should be controlled by the dialog text option under the home menu tab but its not working correctly and is messing with the buttons instead - I will have to find time to fix it
