By the way, if anyone can provied some advice on how to deal with pre-rendered background seams, I would really appreciate it. If there is some setup in chaiNNer that can help with those, I would be able to do more games with these kind of backgrounds.

I'm having trouble getting rid of the seams entirely, although I've been able to reduce them, I would like to eliminate them completely.
When I first got into upscaling textures, I tried my hand at PS1, namely Legend of Dragoon. The seam thing really killed my buzz since I was a complete amateur at this sort of thing. If someone can crack the seam code, that would open up a ton of possibilities. I figured the only way to get it done was to touch up each texture in an image editor so that they line up correctly. Whoever did Shadow Hearts for the PS2 might have an idea, since it had similar backgrounds. BTW, this looks really clean, so it seems you're able to cover it up nicely, though I'm sure it was no simple matter

Thank you very much, I know the seams are not super obvious but it bothers me xD

I'm going to screw around with some stuff today and see if I can clean it up a bit more.

Ok so, I'm done with Nascar, only one issue, the cars.

I managed to upscale everything else, I noticed that the cars dump a ton of files in 3 different dimensions (128 x 128 , 256 x 256 and 512 x 512). I took the files with the least amount of garbage and upscaled each dimension separately to see if the textures load, which they didn't. I then did all 3 dimensions together, and still I couldn't get the car textures to load at a higher resolution.

So, right now, the tracks and most menu items are a higher resolution but not the cars. Do you want me to upload it as it is?

I could probably do the car interiors if you play with that view, it's just going to take a bit longer since each car, with it's different vinyls have a different texture as the interior changes too.

So sorry for the super late response. I have had a lot going on.
I would absolutely love for the higher res stuff you've got, even if you couldn't get the car paints to work.

It does suck the car files were the main focus of what I was trying to make replaceable. Because I've made a tool to update rosters, stats, series schedule, race lengths etc and I was wanting to make some different season packs to download for NT2004 so that people could play career mode through the years.


PS does anyone know what the naming convention represents? I'm fine with trying to find the raw texture data (wherever it's loading from) in HEX and creating a texture conversion program if I really have to. I'm pretty certain the raw/original textures are all RLE compressed in some way.
