Hi y'all.
I'm looking to mod my childhood Gamecube system with a memory card exploit like with my Melee or Super Mario Sunshine copy but I'm not sure how big my Micro SD card needs to be for SD2SP2.
I'm looking to rip my own games with Cleanrip on the Micro SD card and maybe download games I had but traded in at our local gameshop which I still regret to this day.
Maybe run some homebrew but I don't know about any other good GC homebrew plus me having a GC backwards compatible Wii makes it redundant.

Thanks in advance! :)

Go for 256, i started with 64 and switched to 128, but a few multidisc games and emulators with roms will end you quickly at the limmit
I find 256 perfect for my sp2sd2, but it’s all upto you in the end, just sharing my opinion

Edit
If you get “digital versions :P:rofl2:” get the US one, if you ever want to upgrade to a Gamecube hdmi adaptor (if you have a dol-001 gamecube) more us versions support 480p the EU versions

Yeah my Gamecube is the DOL-001 revision but I don't plan on using emulators on my GC. Just ripping my disc games, maybe adding a few on my PC and force them to 480p 60hz.
The PAL versions of SSX Tricky and Wario World for example only play on 50hz by default and have no options to change it which annoys me a lot lol.

It does a clicking sound and Windows doesn't recognize it
  • mthrnite @ mthrnite:
clicking = bad, i'd still try it on a linux box or a mac, out of desperation
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Do you recommend any way to back up?
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
I will keep trying, but that clicking sound seems like the moving parts are stuck or something
  • mthrnite @ mthrnite:
i use a mac, so I just leave time machine running, not real sure how to back up on a windows box

  • mthrnite @ mthrnite:
yeah clicking is bad, i don't do much recovery these days, so i don't know if the old tricks still work

I had a weird thought, Sega with the Saturn it was a train wreck a pile of chips, but it does kind of fit the design philosophy of Sega at the time.... The Genesis/Sega CD/32X machine was probably loads of fun to program for

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, I bet a good chunk of the space games have is due to unused content
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:

DLC will be a svelt 32K download lol
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I think you only get like 425gb on a series s hard drive, so you get 1, 2 next gen games max
