As part of the Fallout series' 25th anniversary, Bethesda has announced that the previous mainline release, Fallout 4, will be getting a free next-gen update in 2023. This update will allow console players to upgrade to a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S version, and an equivalent update will be released for PC. It will include a performance mode and support for 4K resolutions, as well as extra Creation Club content and some bug fixes.

Today's announcement concludes Bethesda's month-long 25th anniversary celebration for Fallout. Most of the other Fallout anniversary celebrations have revolved around Fallout 76 content updates and sales, with the sole exception being Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition being free on the Epic Games Store from October 20-27.

No "Special Edition" port for current gen consoles and PC for Fallout 3 and NV? Fallout 3 and NV PC ports aren't exactly known as the best. No Fallout 4 port for Switch?

Why not port fallout 3 and new vegas to current systems? makes no sense a 4k remaster/60 fps for this 2 games are very needed imo, if they dont want to remake them im preety sure most people would be happy with a remaster atleast, and yet we only get skyrim stuff...

Well I recently fired up Fallout 3 at 4k/60fps on my Series X so.... (and NV, well there's some well documented issues there! That said, both companies are under the Microsoft wing now..)
A full on remaster would also take a long time for those games too, surely that amount of dev time would be better spent making new games like Outer Worlds 2, or perhaps new content for Fallout 76... actually no, you make an excellent point there, get yer old games remastered instead!

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Google isn't very helpful anymore, you get recommended loads of crap that doesn't solve the thing that you're looking for.

@K3Nv2, afaik yeah but I also don't think that it runs on home grade routers like openwrt/dd-wrt does. OPNsense runs on full-on x86 PC hardware
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Sadly openwrt seems to be dying for support unless it's just. Anew name
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Like made by the same devs different architecture
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
idk, I mean it had a new release back in March https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/releases
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Not sure how recent hardware it supports though
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I mean for 1st party routers iirc linksys use to support it
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
ahhhh that I have no idea

    pretty cool though if so
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I've turned more features on in OPNsense lately and it's getting kind of high on RAM usage, I see. Probably bump that up to 4GB soon

I wanna make a 8core router with support for 20gbps doesn't even sound that silly lol
