  • just found out that my otherwise pristine galaxy 3DS XL's battery got so bloated it cracked the back case, ripping off one of the screws. :(
Google Domains officially enters the killedbygoogle.com graveyard in a month. That's news to me, and now I have to spend time finding a new registrar and transfering a bunch of domains. But to be fair to Google, it was my fault for trusting them.

I'm not sure whether to select the 'laugh' reaction, or the 'angry' one.
Damn it, Google...you can be such a turd.

Legitimately didn't even know Google sold domains.
I got Need for Speed Most Wanted running on my Steam Deck and I'm overdosing on nostalgia :DD

I put so many hours into that game back in middle school when I first got xbox live and a headset, and got made fun of by strangers online because I didn't know the difference between "MPH" and "KPH"

I dusted off my old GBA SP for some nostalgia and holy shit is the screen on those things terrible. Maybe my eyesight is getting a lot worse, or I'm spoiled by modern tech.

The battery is amazing though. That thing still had a green LED even after sitting in a closet for many years

If it’s an AGS 001, then yeah, it’s terrible by today’s standards. Look into ITA or IPS mods if you want to get an updated screen on it.

Yup, AGS-001. I've considered doing a mod like that, but don't want to risk my OG gameboy. I think I'll just stick to emulation, or use a DS and/or GC gameboy adapter

After ~40 hours, I just finished Trails in the Sky on PSP, and WOW. I didn't think anything could top P4G, but this is a pretty close contender for my favorite JRPG ever.

P4G beats it by a smidge, imo, but man, Trails is just so good.

I found my old PSP-1000 with charger and everything. I thought it was bricked because it wouldn't load the XMB. Then I noticed the UMD drive spinning, so it's not loading because it can't read the UMD. What was the UMD you ask?

    Napoleon Dynamite.

Nope, but I'll definitely try that at some point. Unfortunately, this PSP was my first test subject while trying to learn how to use a soldering iron when I was a kid, and the analog stick is dead as hell. But if the UMD drive can be saved, then at least I'll be able to watch Napoleon Dynamite on it :)

Your childhood soldering must have shortened something out, like the analog stick you've just mentioned (idk that's my guess). Would recommend that you double check the motherboard for any broken connections.

IIRC, the problem was that I ripped off some of the solder pads on the motherboard :(

But as a homebrew machine, I can live without the analog stick. I submitted a game for the recent PSP homebrew jam, and did all testing on a PSP go. The 1000 is a way nicer than that thing though, so now I can just use the go for testing analog stick stuff and the 1000 for everything else :P

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.

Nowdays, my Samsung phone holds most my music on a 512gb micro sd. I Bluetooth to my earbuds, BT speaker, or to my car stereo from my phone. I still have a iPod Nano, but have not used in years.
