  • Well, I tried Linux again today. Managed to make more progress this time. (setting up Gamemaker, Steam, Discord, etc...) But Proton and Wine just couldn't run games without crashing. So, back to Windows, I guess. :/
Being sick really does things to you (kaomoji would go here, but, y'know...)

I considered that but passed on it for personal preferences and possible performance issues.

However, I've acquired considerable knowledge about Linux from this attempt. So that's always nice!

I’ve not had crashing issues in quite some time with Linux. I feel like something was wrong with your setup.

Just gonna assume the rules haven't been updated in some time.

That doesn't take away the fact there's still people on dial-up or very slow connections.
People with older hardware where browsers crawl shit down to a halt when loading multiple 10 billion pixel images.

Praying that the NTIA is semi-accurate, ~%0.4 of people in the US still use dial-up. Though, that info is from 2021 and very well could've gone down since then. But it's nice to know y'all haven't dropped support for it!

Also shows how long GBAtemp has been around!

Edit: don't forget, there's a world outside the US where people still have dialup.
Try Puyo Puyo Sun when you can! Very fun game!

I've already played that game before on PSX, and I still love it to this day.

Hey! February 4th will mark Wisp's 2nd anniversary! (or the idea of it, anyway..) For the occasion, I've made commemorative artwork. It's pretty bad. But it's better than last year when I did nothing :|
    Enjoy!

In my opinion, emulators are just one of the best things to ever happen to the human race. Ironic that it's not pictured, but I think Dolphin is the best emulator.

I was making a commemorative drawing but didn't finish it. The unfinished drawing is below.

I've taken down its GameJolt page as I don't feel we're quite at that juncture of needing an ACTUAL devlog like that yet.
Maybe someday it'll be better than before. Maybe not. Nonetheless, let's hope for a thrilling, flourishing future in 2024! Thank you for your support!

DBI just changed my whole life...

I've nothing else to say, but if you're not using it, you should use it.

DBI? I prefer Tinfoil, for installing games and updates and DLC; it's actually got a GUI instead of a CLI.

The same used to go for nxdumptool, before the author(s) decided to rebuild it from essentially scratch, with a CLI instead of the old, very straightforward and understandable GUI.

It's a matter of taste, but tinfoil is plaged of errors and some time ago even "malware" refusing to run if you have some configuration or running certain bootloader

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

  • Jayro @ Jayro:
The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

  • Veho @ Veho:
    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.
