    Yeah, but, it depends what model and the serial of the number of the Wii you got. As long as is not 2010 or 2011 new Wii. If you have the Wii with D3 or less it will play DVD movies on the Wii old disc drive. If you have Wii new chip, like D3-2 or D4, it won't play DVD movies on Wii new disc...

    You can use WiiMC (http://wiibrew.org/wiki/WiiMC) to play DVD movie by using External USB DVD on Wii U vWii, instead of insert DVD movie disc on Wii U disc drive (since it can't read DVD).

    Hermes CIOS 202, 222-224 only works on Uloader 5.1x, which it support games from HDD and run burned disc from External DVD.
