How to achieve nice wire management results? Like you see on photos and stuff.

Interesting, i'll try the q-tip technique. And i saw RGA's videos, perhaps i didn't watch them as thoroughly, i'll rewatch and see.

How to achieve nice wire management results? Like you see on photos and stuff.

I see a lot of modchip installs in ps2’s i buy and online. I’ve became sort of fascinated with modding the ps2. (before i was obsessed with the og xbox for like 5 months, but when i got my first ps2, everything on my bench has since been ps2.) i have done one modchip rewiring myself, but it was...

PS2 Fat LED mod help needed

So i’m LED modding this fat ps2 (30004) but i’ve ran into a small issue. I’m using a 24v LED strip, however my console has a 12v psu. And the other issue i have is that my strip has 3 pads. 1. 24v +, 2. R, 3. G, 4.B. I’m assuming i’m supposed to wire up 24v to the 24v pad on the strip and ground...

    PS2 not spinning up disc

What would happen if i install a modbo 5 and after some time uninstall it? Will it then brick it? And i was curious about those matrix 1.99 clones, i saw a video from RGA where he said that two facilities that manufacture the chip flash the fw incorrectly and they brick the console when...

    PS2 not spinning up disc

I heard people say stuff like "Modbo 5 isn't a real modbo, it's just a generic chip" and "Modbo 5 will brick your bios!! use modbo 4 instead" but where i live i can only get modbo 5 and mars pro 806hd, and i heard that the mars pro 806 has very dubious compatibility with fat models, especially...

    PS2 not spinning up disc

I heard on reddit of people saying „modbo 5 shit!!!” But ok, i’ll order one. And by the way the pot tweak didn’t work, the same friend said that before buying a new laser there’s still one thing and i’m still waiting for a reply.

    PS2 not spinning up disc

A friend suggested tweaking the laser pots also, so i’ll do that. But is modbo 5 from ali safe? I have my doubts

    PS2 not spinning up disc

    PS2 not spinning up disc

Today i came across this ps2, the person who sent it to me said that „the tray opens and closes by itself” i thought „improper modchip install 100%” i opened it up and it had a little 8 wire pic chip wired up to the board, and one of the ribbon cables was unplugged, along with some colorful...

    Ps2 modchip help

Yes! I prefer the installation more than the actual result. And a ps2 modchip sound incredibly fun

    Ps2 modchip help

So i’ve been looking into what ps2 modchip to get. And at first i thought it’s as simple as „get a modbo 5 from ali and all good!” Well.. no, i see „experienced” modders saying „modbo 5 trash1! Use modbo 4” and then i see people like gusse, retro gaming arts, voultar use the modbo 5. And AFTER...

    PS2 with ripper modchip, issues

Ok? But will that help with the component or reading discs? And should i leave the pin connected there or resolder to the via?

    PS2 with ripper modchip, issues

Yes! It had/has the via/pin jumped to ground. And here’s the mobo:

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
