Hi, I wanted to change the region of mi USA wii u to EUR, so that I can change the language of the console to italian.
Console was softmodded with tiramisu, I have uninstalled everything and made a factory reset.
I follow Lazr's guide to the letter, but had some problems during the way.
I used my unpatched v1 switch to enter the recovery_menu, and followed everything the guide said, changed the product area from 2 to 4 and game region to 119.

Following the reboot I tried to do the update, but got an error code 105-3012, support information: 5.5.6U, WUP-001(02), GW100161731, HATC-0010-1375
Tried several times, same error.

Made another factory reset (maybe this was my mistake) and tried everything again from the start, but same error.
I changed back the product area to 2 for USA and wanted to try someting else, but since the wii u is stuck in the settings menu.
I can't exit it, every option in the setting menu works, except the pairing button, wich now does nothing (been able to pair the gamepad through the recovery_menu), and if I try exiting the settings menu, it just goes back.
If I try the update menu, it now gives me no error and says software is up to date.

What have I messed up and how can I get the wii u back to work again?
Also, is there a way to flash now the EUR fw?
Thanks!

Edit: ok, found the culprit: set coldboot, after setting it back to the menu everything was ok.

But the base problem remains: Lazr's guide did not work, how to change region from U to E?

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:

still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
