Review Approach:
I was like hmm I have €20,- should I try it, since I LOVED Ridge Racer 3DS. I was like hmm let's give it a shot and share my opinion with the rest of the world! I was scared that this game would be a fail thanks to Namco, but it is done pretty well.
Everybody on this world was angry on Namco Bandai, they had an announcement... It was Riiiiiiidge Raaaacer! I was YEAH! :D Then I heard it was for Playstation Vita YAY!!!!! :D Then they've said something I hated, the game would be DLC based, you can buy this game damn cheap but you'll pay the full price when you want more Ridge Racer. The games starts with only 5 cars and 3 tracks.(6 tracks if mirror is included) Also the game has a weak single player option set.
What kind of game is this? Is a classic Ridge Racer or a Ridge Racer Unbounded like game? It is a classic Ridge Racer game!(*phew*) I didn't like Ridge Racer Unbounded that much personally. But back on course, this game can be bought for a budget price since the Vita launch! Yeah! Budget games love! It only has 3 courses and 5 cars... And the rest is PAID DLC. But yeah in this review I'll be concentrating on the stuff included with the game when you start playing for the first time in your life. When you start a new game you can choose between 4 clubs or teams.
It's Ridgeeeee Raaaaacer!
It does not make a difference which one of the teams you choose, since it does not affect the gameplay at all. After signing with your desired team you can get started! Let's go to team vision first to watch today's mission but wait this menu, how do I navigate? Swipe around! And there we go, at this the point the game fails, the menu looks awesome but navigating trough it is SHIT. It is nearly impossible to select a course on a normal way... But you'll get used to it.
(the menu...)
Into the racing, you have a few options to select from if you want to control your car: different button lay-outs and manual, back-pad or automatic transmission. If we look at transmission, the back touch pad can be used, hey! A new thing, let's give it a shot! *one race later* *sigh* I prefer buttons! But there a lot of options for steering your car, that's nice! Oh and before I forgot mentioning, try manual shifting, it'll make the game more fun! The gameplay is like an old-school Ridge Racer game, it feels solid and plays and steers great. Drifting feels awesome and winning feels even better! I can't complain on one though.
(so shiny <3)
(3... 2... 1... go!!)
Let's get back to the menu, which is hard to navigate, I am going to sum all the racing-modes for you.
A: Career Mode
B: A menu where you can listen to your collected songs
This game seems to be concentrated on online while 3G is very limited as well. And if you play online it plays great!(Some bugs are in there but every game has that.)
I've nothing more to mention, except that there is a lot of FREE MUSIC DLC.
So before we go to the scoring, let me do my short conclusion!
The game feels and looks solid, there is pretty much to do if you buy any DLC for it. The game feels to much concentrated on multi player though and I feel forced to watch that stupid Team Vision every day again.
- Circlite Racing(I want to go back to this team)
- Trianchelor Aliance(I am currently in this team)
- Squaris GP
- Something with the cross(forgotten the name)

Verdict
What I Liked ...
- Great visuals
- Lot of potential
- Awesome music(FREE MUSIC!)
- Stable online
What I Didn't Like ...
- Some framerate problems can occur.(Very rare)
- Very limited off-line options
- No career mode
- Paid DLC, they could've made this game a tad more expensive with all DLC in it.

Lasting Appeal
It lasts 30 hours for a fan. Maybe 10 hours for a non Ridge Racer fan. I miss a lot of single player modes.
