Well, at least now we know that the R4 team is still alive and now we can wait for a new firmware..

The R4 is so cheap, why bother with a clone.

I wouldn't think anyone would have knowingly bought a clone, but they were pretty expensive when they first came out, and places were selling clones for 20-40 USD cheaper...so, some people didn't realize what they were getting.

Yes!! But I doubt they'd give us something new in the update. Probably just minor bug fixes and something to prevent the clones. Nothing like save states =P

I don't expect anything of any real interest, but the R4 team has surprised me before. What better way to stick it to the cloners than to add some killer feature in an update that only work on the real cart?

Realistically though, I don't think it will add big features, and I don't think it will take more than a week for the new loader to work on the clones.

At least, Wii titles link compatibility and built-in 3 in 1 Expansion Support. Save States are almost impossible imo.

I just hope team r4 can make the ez 3 in 1 load gba games from the r4 menu.
If not i will have to upgrade them to the cyclo ds.

What i want is a SDHC compatibility .. that's why i'm switching to M3 Real (sakura sucked me in)
i dunno if mine is original , i bought it from Malaysia so i have no idea

Here is Destructobot's official prediction for the new loader:

• It will only work on genuine R4's for about a week until it's cracked.
• 1 new feature. It could be anything, but I'm thinking save states because they wouldn't need an in-game menu.
• Compatibility fixes. Not for every game that doesn't work, but for most of the more well known ones.
• Support for the new 8MB save type. This may actually be the new feature, depending on how lazy they are.
• Nothing else.

Wich plays more type of files... Like .avi, .mp4 etc.
That would be cool, because then you won't have to convert it into a .dpg

Simple when they release a new cart m3,m4,m6 what ever they call just dont buy it.
I have 3 x r4's and am pissed with the r4 team.
As for my cyclo ds it rocks with 100% support and a team who actually listen and want ideas from there customers.

Their statement is bullshit, they wont be able to do anything which will prevent clones from running official firmwares.
