Has anyone been using a 16GB MicroSDHC with a Cyclo yet?

What brand/class did you buy, and how well does it work? Do you get lag or freezing issues?

Sandisk seems to be the only brand I can find, and I don't know what class it is. But 16GB seems amazing, especially of you want to combine games and media together on one big card.

But maybe a Transcend 8GB MicroSDHC is enough. I heard the 8GB Transcends are very good and at Newegg they're really cheap too.

I've been using a 16GB Sandisk class4 micro-sdhc (made in Taiwan) ok now for a few weeks on CycloDS 1.51 FW.
Made a lot of directories on it and put my games in, converted my old DS-X saves.
Also just got my EZ 3-in-1 slot2 card and can now play GBA titles 100% ok (old Castlevania's)

The amount of storage is pretty insane, have 40 games on it only using 3GB (!)
Have had no problems so far

Good to hear it works well. Yeah it's a lot of storage. I guess it holds more games than I would ever really want. Maybe I'll get an 8GB instead when I finally buy a new flash cart.

hey its XMas spoil yourself with the 16GB, you could like put a 1000 GBA ROMs on it ;-P
That EZ 3-in-1 slot2 card is the bizz, just been playing CV Aria of Sorrow again and it works perfectly and my GBA save goes in the directory on the micro-sdhc card woo! Man this CycloDS cart + EZ 3-in-1 blows away my old DS-X

If your looking for cards, stick for 4 or 6, and I'd say use 8 tops, unless you plan to use your DS for media or reading a lot of stuff (like comics)

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

They went all in on streaming, should have been more of a hybrid approach

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
