Hacking Can you change shiny chance in pokemon emerald??

I have been wanting to play a game of Pokémon emerald but with the 1/4096 odds there are today in the current games. Problem is I don't know how I have had no prior experience with rom hacking. I would like some help with this subject.

gen 4's cute charm glitch can bring pokemon shiny odds to the historic low for the series. I believe it's more than 50%, but there is prep work involved. (no, you don't need game genie or anything external to pull off this one)

Page search for "SHINY_ODDS" should find something interesting, bunch of other things mentioning shiny in that as well. Changing that would be put a thumb on the scales.

Most would probably use that to inform something in the game instead rather than possibly recompiling with shiny odds changed but it might be possible too. Adapting that for an assembly cheat (which this would almost have to be) would be a bit harder than doing it for disassemblies (what most pokemon projects aim for).

Everytime I play a new game I get at least 5 shinnies. I mean, if I hunted fir them I could get more.
