Gaming ChickHEN installation gone bad, semi-brick, PSP-1000

I bricked my friends PSP-1000 using the ChickHEN installation via the following guide : http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/f133/the-h...tml#post1181187

It's now semibricked, no sound, no screen, shuts off after the typical 'boot sequence' that you 'can't see'. I've tried loading into a pandora, same thing. Do I need to remake MMS or do I need something else on it?

if you already had a pandora, why would you bother with chickHen? just out of curiosity

Just use pandora and downgrade to 150 then 3.71m33

How would I do this though, is my problem.

Also, I used ChickHEN because according to the guide that linked to that one, it's the "RECOMENDED" way, I also have other PSPs so I can softmod a pandora anytime I want, however the problem was that I didn't want to go through all the MMS thing (UNTIL I FOUND OUT THERES AN EasyMMS TOOL, FFS >:|) so I did ChickHEN as it seemed reliable. GUESS NOT.

Luckily I'm not the one with the heat of 'breaking' it, but getting it fixed would be very nice. :]

If you have a pandora battery then just make the mms and reinstall. You should not need to downgrade with a pandora battery. It should just replace whatever corrupt firmware.

You see, I was fairly sure that DdC unbricked ANYTHING, but I wasn't sure if it was only if it was ALREADY on, like the Wii.

Also out of curiosity, when exactly during the process did your friend's PSP get bricked, and do you know why it happened? I'm assuming it was when using the Hellcat's Recovery Flasher, but I don't know.

Also, after the recovery (which I didn't really understand), how did you load the firmware? Did you try the ChickHEN method again, or just the old-school Pandora/MMS way?

I just ask because I'm going to be doing the same thing in a few days when I get my fat psp, and I don't want to go bricking it so quickly hahaha. I thought that the ChickHEN/Hellcat was a foolproof method so long as you had a 100x, but then I saw this thread and got scared! Thanks for the reply, if any.

That's a terrible guide for a Phat PSP.....if you've got a Phat PSP use Chickhen to run OSPBT to make your own Pandora and then just install CFW the usual way, 100% safely.

Yeah I was gonna ask about that method as well, thanks for the reply. I'm assuming OSPBT can turn the 'pandorized' battery back into a normal one once you have the firmware on (same as Hellcat)?

OSPBT is just a tool for converting your battery back and forth. You don't even need to use it if you plan to use Hellcat's flasher as that'll convert the battery for you. Then a Pandora and a MMS will give you a CFW the nice safe way.
