They're not the same thing at all.
Patching a running IOS that was clean = you know what has been modified.
Running on an IOS that has already been patched = who knows what has been modified.

Only the app knows what has been patched, but it can patch and change anything it likes. It all depends on the app and who wrought the patches. It is the same, patched ios is patched ios = cios, running or on nand. Probably very soon we will have AHBPROT patch ios running usbloader and what not, but it is still the same, just another way.

And what's your point? priiloader wants a sane IOS to do installing so it complains if it has already been patched. It's just not very good at detecting a patched IOS because someone doesn't know how to write proper RSA code.

the error means the ios is cios infected(like the installer says, or it has be played with and made it something not to be trusted(aka version is not right,the rev is fucked or the content isn't right). not sure how he's running the installer but thats just what is going on.

depends. if the installer is run with ahbprot it can't fool it. (unless those dx2 thingies are not detected by the installer. not sure)
without ahbprot its possible to bypass it; if the user reinstalled the ios decently and manually put the cios dip in it.
but its the user's problem if he wants to be so stubborn when it fucks up imo

For people who stumble upon this topic and actually want to install Priiloader: If you've already installed DARKCORP, make sure you have IOS236 installed and use the Priiloader installer that's been modified to use IOS236 to install.

or just install a clean IOS58(or whatever ios HBC uses, its for ahbprot) or install IOS36 patched with trucha/nand permissions/es_identify and no more
