I get the same issue (11 blinks) with config loader

Are some HDDs not compatable with Devo or something? I previously had Devo working fine on a Samsung drive, but I've just bought a WD and all I get now are black screens. No flashes or anything.

I've found that some drives need to have their partition table nuked and then recreated in order to work with the Wii, such as my 16GB Corsair Flash Voyager needed. I personally use Parted Magic to accomplish such a task.

Also Devolution doesn't work with modchips, regardless of your hard drive.

My Wii games run off the drive fine, just not the Gamecube ones trough Devo.

Don't have a mod chip. Like I said, they worked (and still work) perfectly fine on my older samsung drive, just not the WD

I forgot to mention, Devolution requires a FAT32 partition. Note that Devolution DOES support multiple partitions, so you can have an NTFS one for everything else and a FAT32 one for Devolution.

How large is the drive? Maybe the Wii has some hard drive size limit?

Other than that, I can really only suggest nuking the partition table. Other than that, perhaps logging Devolution via netcat and posting the log here will reveal something?

OK, so I moved a game onto my SD card and it worked. But then I plugged back in my HDD, tried to boot off the SD card and it failed.

Its USB 3.0, whereas my old drive was USB 2.0 - wonder if that is a factor.

Will have to try Wifi logging when I have a bit more time.

If you use my "Wifi logging for Windows Dummies", you can have it done in under a minute, and surely less than 5 at worst.

I had the same problem with a western digital drive. USB 3.0. I wondered if that was the issue. Wii games all worked fine, but no dice with Devo. The problematic WD drive was one of those with the stupid adaptor thing, where you could get attachments for different things like USB 2.0, USB 3.0, etc. I was dumbfounded by it, and if you look back in this thread, you'll see me asking about it.

SOLUTION: buy a new hard drive. USB 3.0 has nothing to do with it. I bought a Toshiba USB 3.0 drive and it works flawlessly. Fast as lightning too. Sooooooo, to wrap it up, it sounds like you are having a similar problem to what I was experiencing. Just buy a new Hard drive. Problem solved.

Maybe it would be better to buy a hard drive enclosure? That way once you have a working adapter you could use any hard drive you like.

i have an enclosure i like. all aluminum and red/green power/hdd LED. works great with the FAT32/WBFS partition i have on my 320GB WD 7200rpm drive.

the problem is that r168 broke direct loading from configurable usb loader. devolution loader works fine with r168.

replacing the r168 loader.bin file in the 'usb-loader' folder with one from r160 restores loading in configurable usb loader.

if wifi logging is still active when launching a GC game in configurable usb loader, not devolution launcher, then i can probably pull a log from there.


edit: tried to wifi log from configurable usb loader with r160 and r168. no dice. devolution loader and r168 pulled a log.

He often doesn't take the time to update the OP here. (last month has been a great example)
He's said a WiiBrew page is something someone else can take care of but he's definitely not going through the trouble himself.
