Does the Switch Lite support USB 3.0 in DBI?

I have a Switch Lite and an OLED both have USB 3.0 support enabled through the extra atmosphere config file (and both show 3.0 enabled in DBI) but only the OLED Switch shows as supporting USB 3.0 when connected to my PC. The Switch Lite shows 2.0 as max speed. You can check this by downloading USB Tree and when you select "Switch" in the dropdown at the top it will show you all the information about it including the supported protocols.

This makes me think of a few images I saw from Sthetix showing the pinouts for the USB-C connector for all the Switch models should you have irreparably damaged pads for the USB-C connector. In the diagram he shows for the Lite he only annotates D+ and D- (USB 2.0 data pins) and doesn't show the locations to jump the superspeed pins (TX1+, TX1-, RX1+, RX1-) which I am pretty positive are required for USB 3.0 support. He does however show them for the OLED Switch but they all appear to go to filters before the video controller that the Lite doesn't have (because it's not dockable)

So am I just going insane is the Switch Lite incapable of USB 3.0 support? If you see the diagram I attached it should suggest it's only wired to support 2.0 speeds. I also attached an image of the details in USB Tree. If anyone has any info about the missing pinouts or has a Lite with 3.0 support enabled that they can check by downloading USB Tree it would help a lot.

Edit: Using the board scans available on Balika I have located the TX1 and RX1 pairs required for USB 3.0 speeds. There is continuity from the USB-C port to the 4 points circled in blue which are as follow from top to bottom: TX1+, TX1-, RX1+, RX1-. Which means there is nothing wrong with the port.

The problem I now notice is that the TX1 RX1 pairs terminate where I have circled in blue in the new picture I have added. The red area has no continuity with the adjacent points. It looks like there should be two caps and some sort of filter between the points in the red circle and the blue circle based on the OLED and V2 Switch's setup for the same TX1 RX1 pairs.

It's looking to me like the Lite doesn't support 3.0 speeds at all but I would love someone to confirm for me by checking the protocol in USB Tree on a Lite with 3.0 Atmosphere config enabled for DBI. Only my OLED will perform at 3.0 speeds personally.

Installed a Picofly in another Lite. It also doesn't get picked up by my PC as supporting 3.0 speeds. So that confirms it then. Despite enabling the atmosphere patch it's physically not supported by the Lite to transfer at 3.0 speeds because the TX RX pair is not hooked up.

I made the same experience. The Lite unfortunately only has USB 2 speed at the USB-C port

@BigOnYa, and since the default emulator is below average i downloaded some "replacements" like snes9x for snes games for example

If you just want pi for emulation no point when Anbernic releases new shit every two seconds

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
What's really cool about Pi's tho is you can have multiple SD cards with different OS on each SD card and change from say a gaming machine to a full fledged pc if wanted
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Plus all bios are set up and usually includes at least 128gbs or 64
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah but if your main goal is just to play n64 and GameCube you can save about $50 and have the portability option

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
True, but on 2 monitors at 4k. Its just want you want really, to each they own.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display

For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Spell and speak as his first system.

So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.

They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.

    Oh tootles
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Oh totes , lol, like Tupperware storage, I gotcha
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I'm designing my own entertainment cabinet for my man cave, to store all my systems, then I'm also designing a power supply/HDMI switcher so I can switch to whichever system I want, and power it also. Already picked up the cabinet board, but tinkering with my drawings before start
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But yea, I have frogger arcade cabinet that I gutted and put a Pi4 then Pi5 into, but it never gets played much anymore, should sell it. Even when the kids come over, they don't want to play on it, just the xbox.
