right now CrashMan, head of The wiki is trying to pull everyone interested together. I am so close to extracting the .bin files I know it. Once done I can work with some others on the homebrew app. We are still not sure if they are coded in C++ (although they probably are).

What exactly are you doing to extract the .bin files?

You say you are trying to get everyone together to work on this project but you are not telling us vital information that could be used toward getting the DSiBrew channel up and running much sooner.

Thanks

Good luck to you, and the DSi hacks/homebrew!

Okay, the .bin files are coded with SDKey, according to CashMan. I really don't know how to use this program but I have also sent an email to the dev's of the program for a how-to-use guide.

Could you possibly link me to a download? Thanks.

found this info on hackmii ( http://hackmii.com/2008/04/keys-keys-keys/ ):

QUOTE said:
SD key (ab01b9d8e1622b08afbad84dbfc2a55d): This is another shared secret — also stored on the Hollywood, but also found plenty of other places, including inside the firmware images. This key is used by the System Menu (1-2) to encrypt anything before writing it out to the SD card, and it’s used by 1-2 to decrypt anything read from the SD card. This is done mainly for the purpose of obfuscation, to keep people from examining savegames. It’s worth noting that all Wii games save their data to the internal NAND — no game supports loading or saving data directly to SD. This frees game writers from the requirement of handling this step themselves; they just write the savegame data, unencrypted and unsigned, to their title-data directory inside the NAND filesystem; the system menu then handles everything else. (The real reason for this is probably that it allowed Nintendo to make a system where they didn’t have to expose the details of this encryption — or any encryption — to their licensed game developers.) This key is also stored in OTP, and in several places in IOS (for no apparent reason). If you’re using Segher’s tools, you may also be interested in the SD IV (216712e6aa1f689f95c5a22324dc6a98) and the MD5 blanker (0e65378199be4517ab06ec22451a5793), both of which are stored inside the 1-2 binary.

This may be what is used to encrypt the firmware and dsiware, or not, like I have already said (and I'm sure you guys are sick of hearing) I don't know much about this stuff

also, desumodnoc, I kind of agree with the others. You should really tell us what your doing so that everybody can help you. I'd hate to think of you doing something wrong and being forced to start all over when one of the other devs could have helped you

Wait. You are trying to tell me you contacted the developers of SDKey?

It's not fail. It was a simple misinterpretation.

Facts: OP knows nothing about encryption, exploits and I really doubt he knows any programming language. I consider my time writing in this thread a waste of time.

Maybe he doesn't know how to do any of this stuff; but it brought attention to other developers who can actually make some progress.

Hey, you've said you have extracted WW:S into arm9.bin, arm7.bin.
Before that: what is the format of the game?

And wait - ARM9&ARM7?
But the DSi...

Exactly.

Yasu doesn't respond to any emails so we are kinda just waiting for someone to make this happen :/

I did in fact extract WW:S, but it corrupted. It seems that it was the same lines of code:

Several thousand times. Nintendo is smart this time, their stuff is not encrypted the same as it used to be. (Like we didn't see that coming)
