It's up to you whether or not it's worth it.
Yay! We are at - take the available information

make your own educated decisions - levels.
Pro Tip. Don't rely on asking strangers in a webforum "what you should do". Or "if things are safe".
Chances are - some times you might get someone like me, that just might tell you everything you do with your switch is "safe" - just to let you feel how little accountability you actually get from me as "random voice on the internet", if stuff goes wrong.
(Lets call this a thought experiment for now... I havent done it yet..
)
The moment people start to think on their own, instead of relying on the first voice that tells them to do something, in a thread they just highjacked - it will be paradise in here..
edit: Then this happens:
why would he need to hold off on updating because as far as i was reading this works on all fw's as of right now so yes I know lower is better but he is all ready on 5.0.0 so even if he updates it would still be hacked the same way as if he was on a higher fw.
True - in theory. But still, dont take his/her responsibility for deciding away.
Lets preferably not babystep every possible from x firmware to y firmware question, people could ask.
We are not writing service center call manuals here..
Also - prevent people from going with the shorthand "lets just update freely" - because the vulns in lower firmwares might still be valuable... Or not. Handle with care.
edit: The alternative is having the guy above show up again, once 5.0.2 gets released, with a very creative question.
("Does this mean..?")
