Yes, there are different files for EN, JP, and a few other languages. If the patch was only applied to the EN files only the English version would have the changes.

Ah. Well to change the language of the game I have to change the system language of the Switch, right.

To make it easier for folks.. download the attachment that OP posted on the first post and drop the 0100A5B00BDC6000 folder from the download into the directory below.

root:\atmosphere\titles\

If you want to use the AC mod, get the files from the AC executable and place them in the directory where Readme.txt tells you to put it.

battle.lpg --> battle/
char.lgp --> field/
menu_us.lgp --> menu/
world_us.lgp --> wm/

The last 3 i think you may have to make copies of it. Thats what i did and it works.

I've never had a problem with layeredfs mods before, but when i drag and drop the folder from OP where its supposed to go, and load the game i get an error after the squareenix logo. I'm on reinx 6.2, everything is in the right place for sure, anyone experience something similar?

I believe if you can extract the game, renaming some of the language files around SHOULD work. It all depends on what language you're trying to get to from what.

Renaming the system language file to your desired language should make the trick, don’t have the folder at hand to check though... For example if your system is looking for lang_fr just take the lang_en and rename it to lang_fr
