Hardware First Model Wii

I am thinking about buying my friends Wii off him. Its a first generation Wii, so other than that I couldn't tell you anything. Maybe all first generation, launch Wii's all had the same Mobo.

I want to get the best Mod Chip out there, price is no option. Right now can they do everything a Wii can do (GameCube, online play, homebrew, etc?). Could I put my own NES and SNES and N64 games to run through the VC? Is it easy to play backups like on the DS?

You can play GameCube backups (USB Gecko) homebrew (Homebrew channel) NES, SNES, and N64 (Homebrew emulators) on the Wii without modding it

But if you wanted the best modchip, I would say Yaosm, you can make it yourself (Or buy it) ,and regularly updated.
I would get it myself if I didn't have a D2C Wii.
