I downloaded "Precompiled LMP-ng 1.02" and unzipped it. Where do I put my MP3s in?

put them anywhere on your ds, it will find them automatically

Just something funny that made me click here, sorta off topic (but about the topic.) In the sidebar the topic came up as "How do I work Lick's Me..."

Your mp3's should just show up wherever thay are stored.
Unfortunately it finds all mp3 files and adds them to the list, even moonshell's start up sounds appear.

This player had the potential to be fantastic, its a shame it hasn't been updated in ages.
