Tutorial How to Run ISO/EBOOT.pbp without Hacking

Some people would like to play downloaded Games on their PSP's, but don't want to go through all the risks of bricking their PSP while soft/hardmodding it.

In this Tutorial, I'll show you how to play Games and Homebrew on your PSP without hacking it.

I guess i dont really have a use for this since my PSP is on 5.00 m33-6. I have really good compatibility but hey this is great great work. Does this work for all PSPs?

Do you mean all PSP by model or Firmware?

Model: Yes.

Firmware: OFW's 6.31 and above. CFW, not very sure

Okayback.

While CSOs can't be used, there's still a way to trim the size down. You can convert an ISO to a CSO and rip/resample stuff, and then convert it back to ISO and while it won't be as small as the CSO, it'll still be smaller than the original. You might want to include a guide on ripping when converting to CSO, such as the update folder, resampling the music/video, and hints like taking out bonus videos entirely and such.

I think iso2eboot is the compiled (exe) form of what is being used here. It's the same thing except that it's a program, so you don't need UMDGen and you don't have to convert to ISO (as the program converts the file automatically).

The same rules apply though: no files higher than 728mb.

Spoiler: Installing EBOOT.pbp

Use this method to sign your downloaded Homebrew applications or games.

1.) Download PSCrypter Signed 2.0 (WILL ADD DOWNLOAD LINK NEXT WEEK.)

2.) After downloading the compressed file, extract the
"PSCRYPTER_v2.0_signed" folder to the /PSP/Game/ Folder of your PSP.

3.) Place the EBOOT.pbp file you want to sign in the "Sign" folder.

4.) Disconnect your PSP from your computer, and on your PSP, go to

Games, then open the Memory Card.
Load "PSPCRYPTER", and wait until it goes back to the XMB Menu.

5.) Plug your PSP back into your computer, open up
/PSP/Game/PSCRYPTER_v2.0_signed/sign.
You will see your EBOOT.pbp file, but it is now signed.

6.) Create a new folder in the "Game" folder, accordingly to the Game that you
have signed. For example, I signed "Super Mario War", and then I created a folder named "Super Mario War".

Enjoy your newly signed PSP homebrew app/game!

NOTE: For some weird reason, my downloaded and signed "Super Mario War" will not boot because it is corrupted. Please report if you have the same problem. Thanks.

Also, I believe the EBOOT.pbp file must be smaller than 4mb in order to sign it.
