Gaming How to upgrade from 3.10 0E-A to CFW M33-6

So I bought a "faulty" psp 1000 from ebay. It says the firmware can not be updated so there may actually be another fault. In any case it says 3.10 0E-A firmware on it, and I have a magic stick with 5.00 m33-6 on it, as well as a pandora battery. Is it just the simple case of using the pandora battery to update the firmware, or is there something else i need to do seeing as it's on firmware that is pretty old?

You can just use hellcats but pandora is fine too.

ok i thought i had 5.00 but i don't. it updated to 3.71 m33 when i did a network update it only provided an update to 6.03 I think or something like that but that's the official firmware not CFW. What do I do next to upgrade it to 5.00 m33?

Get a pandora battery and a MMS, and then flash 5.00m33-6 before updating to 5.50 GEN-D3.
Edit: Hellcat's Recovery flasher should work, just check the stickies.
