Monday I start on my new job at a small company in my city that makes games for PC, Wii and DS..

I'll start as a programmer on a project they're making using Flash, but have some expectations to move up to console development later, told my boss there about my experience making DS homebrew (I started some.. never finished any >_>) and he got impressed.

The ambient there seems really nice, a small group of people, most gamers and nerds like me, and they had some big weird machines for DS development.. I always thought they used something like a flashcard

.. anyway I think I'll fit nicely there

They have no console games out yet, they acquired the Nintendo license recently.. but they are working on some projects. It's a small brazilian company so, don't expect anything big.. they make mostly simple, casual games.. but it's a start

That also means I'll have less time for GBATemp and you people will have less Cock.. RoachMan

I'll do my best to don't disappear

Wow, very cool. Congratulations!

I hope you will tell us what you can about what it's like working in the development-side of the industry.

Congrats on the new job. Hope you'll work on something nice instead of ending up being the one that has to work on terrible shovelware games.

Also, what are the chances that if the game gets dumped you'll provide a commentary on how the game was developed? I love stuff like that

I wonder if the Tempcast people still has contact with Mr. Woggerman.. I should ask him for some advice XD

It's not up to me to decide which kind of games are made there, I'm just a programmer.. but I'll do my best to don't make just generic shovelware.. not just because a game is "casual" that it has to be bad, just take a look at stuff like Meteos and Picross.. Most people over there are into gaming, and I'm sure they would love if our boss got there one day and said "Ok! Now let's make the next Final Fantasy!", but that kind of thing costs money and it's very risky.. and it's a relatively new company, so you have to go carefully in the beginning..
I think it's actually the first brazilian company to make games for a Nintendo console (Tectoy made some games for the SMS and Genesis that were only released here, don't remember anything for the SNES and NES)

That's awesome.

You know that a part of me has died inside now?

Congrats on the job, if you could get the name "Greg Woggerman" into any games that would be lovely.
