Hacking I have 2 R4 cards and can't get either to work.

Hey guys, I have 2 R4 cards and can't seem to get either to work on my original DS Lite or my New 3DS XL on the latest update (11 something) running B9S and Luma. I'm using a 32GB micro SD, since I don't think anything larger will work?

The 2 R4 cards I have are:

• WIFI R4i Upgrade Revolution for DS v1.4.1. Website to use on card is r4i-sdhc.com
• R4i 3DS Revolution for DS. Website to use is R4ids.cn

I have downloaded all the firmware kernals from both sites and tried on both cards and both consoles. Been trying to get them working for hours. The closest I've got is the WiFi DS card boots to a white screen with a red SD card icon where it says 'menu' with a question mark. I googled this and it's been suggested I'm using the wrong kernal, but I've now tried them all.

Any ideas?

With the 3DS card, I am using a 32GB card formatted to Fat32. I've checked my little box of memory cards and the smallest one I have is 8GB but I thought they supported up to 32GB?

That is also the website I used to download the firmware from. Most of the links are dead, but the one that looks most like the card I have (Wood) was still working. I've tried it and card isn't recognised when I put it either console.

Sorry, not quite sure what you are saying. I've uploaded a picture of the cards if that helps.

Though, I think I've already tried the things you've suggested. Thanks tho.

Try RGF's files here, namely for the the R4i card. Honestly no reason to use the stock firmware over this.

YES! Thank you so much, I didn't know about that. The WiFi R4 is now working in the DS Lite. I can't seem to get the 3DS one to work in either console still, which is a shame, Was kinda hoping I could get one card I could use in both, but at least one now works... Maybe the 3DS one is just dead...

Both of these cards support SDHC, it shouldn't matter.

If you softmod the 3DS, the WiFi R4 would likely work in it. Luma3DS unblocks most (maybe all?) flashcarts that Nintendo blocked in the firmware. I'm not sure if that's worth it to you, but it's an option.

I've got the latest version of Luma installed using BS9, but it's still not working. I tried booting the card from Twilight Menu too, but that didn't work. Just got a white screen.

Is there anything I need to do to unblock the flashcard? I've been googling and looking into it, but all I found was a cia called Timewarp that apparently is only for the old 3DS models?

I'll keep looking into it tho.

Does the 3DS recognize the card as another game when you plug it in? If not, you should try using NTR Launcher to start it.
