I missed this update. That is not normal at all. I have seen bad installs and failed boots but never an infinite loop on the chip itself. I would definitely pull that chip and try a new one.

have you solve your problem. i have a new batch of rp2040 and yesterday i have an oled with slow glitching about 15s for a glitching. changed 3 chips and the same issue. all the point are good , all the games are running good. don't know what caused the problem.
I got a bad batch last week with similar issues. Boot times between 1 second and 20 seconds with no rhyme or reason. I returned them.

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
