Hacking is it safe to updating Wii channels in 4.0 ?

yeah, I did it and had no problems, can still use all my hacks excluding geckoOS's rebooting option, but that was even before I installed the new wii speak channel, but the photo channel I think shouldn't be touched, I heard it could give u the black screen of death if u update from 1.1 to the newest...might be wrong tho

it is but you cant install wads AND games from wads won't work in SD.

they fixed it go here

Skip waninkoko's loader. Install customIOS 36_R8 (very important you do this first) then update to 4.0 using the official nintendo method (far less likely to brick). Then install the patched ios60 and you can boot custom channels no prob.

Oh, of course make sure HBC is installed on your wii first
