Is there still a working DNS to block Nintendo updates for 3DS?

Hi there,

it seems the well established DNS servers 168.235.092.108 + 081.004.127.020 are both down. Is there any alternative?

If not, can someone tell me what URLs to block in my router? I already tried the following ones but an update nag made it through.

nus.cdn.c.shop.nintendowifi.net
nus.cdn.shop.wii.com
nus.cdn.wup.shop.nintendo.net
nus.wup.shop.nintendo.net
nus.c.shop.nintendowifi.net
c.shop.nintendowifi.net
cbvc.nintendo.net
cbvc.cdn.nintendo.net

I have a Franken-NAND to use Gateway and Luma at the same time. System settings show that I'm on 11.17.0-50 and online play works fine but I still get the nag which in the past was always blocked by the DNS.

So I'm simply wondering which URLs I have to block to get my own perfect setup. The ones above apparently aren't enough.

Disclaimer: Yes, I know I'm in a minority and it's always suggested to just use Luma and not some age-old flashcart. I just like the convenience of a simple drag-and-drop ROM cart next to my main CFW (Luma).

Maybe try deleting the update files with FBI? If you blocked the servers after you got the nag i don't think the nag will remove by itself.

FBI > Pending Titles

Not sure if what you're trying to do will work, as far i know there is a "connection test" the 3DS does with nintendo servers before allowing your device use the internet. Most likely you won't be able to do anything online unless you pass that test, unless there is a patch or homebrew that bypass that test (like how people do with the Switch) that i'm unware of.

I had a weird thought, Sega with the Saturn it was a train wreck a pile of chips, but it does kind of fit the design philosophy of Sega at the time.... The Genesis/Sega CD/32X machine was probably loads of fun to program for
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Damn, the new COD coming soon is 310gb on series s/x

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, I bet a good chunk of the space games have is due to unused content
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
310GBs lol ISPs hate this one trick
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
DLC will be a svelt 32K download lol
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I think you only get like 425gb on a series s hard drive, so you get 1, 2 next gen games max
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, so you need to have another series s if you wanna play more games?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Nuh you buy extra HD n add to it, but not cheap
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, how can a console have more than 1 hard drives?
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
usb expansion? I know the PS4 can do this
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, oh Yea I recall my PS3 can do that
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Modded ofc
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Speaking of my PS3 i havent downloaded any games yet bc my wifi is too slow
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
and also because blackouts here are very common and that could damage the console
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
Do you have a surge protector or an UPS?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea but to play the next gen games, you must have those games on internal, or buy the official ssd expansion cards, which are expensive
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, dunno what each one of those are
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, my PS3 was already modded when my dad bought it for me and my brother
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
A surge protector is a device that protects your electronics from fluctuations. I recommend having your console plugged into one of those
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
An UPS is even better because it has an internal battery that keeps your system on even if the power goes out, but it's much more expensive obviously
