Which number?Maybe it's the new wiimote plus, could you please tell me the number under the batteries? If it's a new one you'll need to get some older wiimote because the new are not supported anymore for some reason.
The cIOS setup in this guide isn't optimal.I used this guide yesterday to hack my cousin's Wii.
Though, I didn't like the fact that it replaced all the official IOS with same_copy_of_that_IOS version+1, and installed unneeded IOS (like korean, ISO11 etc.) Which are not even explained in the first post. I guess it's part of "restore homebrew friendly firmware 4.2" ?
What's the purpose?
I wanted only 236, SM patched, and cIOS installed.
I'll try to use Modmii (for the first time) to re-hack his Wii.
Unfortunately, I think my Cousin his the first one worldwide to have a Wii incompatible with cIOS+USB ports (no HDD detected with cIOS, only IOS58 can detect a connected USB device).

I didn't use "up4.2", I used "mod"
I misunderstood what the first point meant.
I thought it would use 4.2 files versions as it was the latest homebrew friendly.
Sorry about that

About the IOS version, it's because I used DopIOS, and the "installed version" had one version ahead from the one available on nintendo's server.
But ok, maybe I used an old version of Dop which wasn't aware of Nintendo's new version.
Sorry about that report then.
And you are right, I wasn't aware about IOS11 being a system menu IOS.
****
Though, the last point I'm 100% sure.
I did found a Wii incompatible with cIOS not based on IOS58.
the echi_module is not working, only the usb_module is detecting the device.
I did debug the Wii with Dimok and Davebaol using a debug version of d2x cIOS v8, and one with a custom ehci_module he worked on but never released, so you can be sure I know what I'm telling.
His wii give : "USB Status : 0x3002".
I also tested the mPlayer_CE USB Test, and it gave the same error.
I didn't find what it means in the ehci specification pdf from intel website.
I checked if other users had this error and it seems he is not the only one, there were other users reporting this error in January 2011 on gbatemp.
Case 1
Case 2
There's no solution. I think I'm the only one who did more tests on it thanks to d2x debug version.
About selling/lending it to someone with more hardware knowledge, it's not mine but my cousin's Wii. Maybe he would agree, I don't know
Might be a good idea to help other users with this error.
Hello everyone,
New here. I have a few questions and while I'm sure they're buried somewhere in this thread, I would really appreciate it if one of the pro's here (probably all of you), could just shoot me the answer.
I'm following the how-to guide at the start of this thread. I got homebrew and bootmii installed via Letterbomb (as recommended here). That all went fine. Also did a NAND backup.
My issues starts with the "Mod.zip" pack it has you download (the one where you email that address, and it sends you links automatically). The guide makes it sound like you just load the programs that are present in HomeBrew (there are 4 of them after I extract mod.zip to my SD card), and presto chango, you're done. Problem is, when I load up "wiimod v3" (which, in this manual it says v2.9 btw), I'm presented with a menu system rather than an auto installer. There are options to install IOS', WAD's, Wii Menu versions, etc. I went to the IOS, hoping it was an auto-install (as alluded to in this guide), but I'm instead presented with a chart at the top - a series of numbers. I can press "1" on the controller to install, but then it asks me a few different things. In fear of messing something up, can someone shed some light on this "wiimod" program and how I'm to approach it. I was under the impression that I was supposed to install the Trucha Bug first (as mentioned in the "objectives" part of the guide), but it doesn't speak specifically to that when you get to the step by step instructions.
Also, I'm running 4.3U.
[edit] - a quick note, I ran "wiimod" in HomeBrew, not "wii mod batch" - of the 4 programs that were in "mod.zip" available to me in homebrew, none were named "wii mod batch"
Thanks!
I don't recall off hand, but I'll confirm when I get home. I know I saw HackMii, and WiiMod, the others had icons that were hard to even read. I'll check first thing after work and will report back here!
If you make a request in the icon/screenshot thread in my signature, I can make one for Wii Mod Batch. This is the one I made for Wii Mod:I don't recall off hand, but I'll confirm when I get home. If you are doing the icon view, that could be why. The Wii Mod Batch icon is the same as the Wii Mod icon.

I can modify that one, create a new one, or do both and let you choose. There are currently no requests pending so you won't have to wait.
