It happened to me, but the problem was i wasn't using the monnshell ¨DIRECTBOOT¨ .nds file for the dldi patch. Works perfect now.

Yay. I'm not the only one that cannot load MS2 on an Acekard 2i! I thought it was my fault

This method will not work on Acekard 2i, though. Bummer.Vampirex

I have seen threads that certain Moonshell 2 Beta X work on Acekard 2i. Maybe you should try those out! Let me know if it works. =)

I've cracked it on my AK2i with official firmware - see my instructions @ http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=163663 on how I did it
It's a bit of a cheat - you load in official firmware which in turns autoboots Moonshell2

Also there's a problem - you CAN'T run latest Moonshell (2.02 stable) with Latest Acekard (2i) firmware (v4.17),
however you CAN run either an Older Moonshell2 (beta 5) with latest official firmware OR latest Moonshell with an older official firmware (v4.15)

I believe the 'missing system file' is part of the official firmware that allows ak2i to work - Moonshell doesn't have this code in it & I doubt there's anyway of 'patching' moonshell to include it - that's why it's 'missing'

hello,

i followed every step detailed in the OP but i still cant get moonshell to load when i start up my acekard. i get an error saying:

"There is a loss in the main body of The ARM7/9 code. Please copy moonshl2.nds with windows again."

i have AKAIO 1.5 installed on my acekard2 ver. 1.5.

any help would be appreciated...thanks!

IMPORTANT NOTICE: In order for commercial games to run in Moonshell, they must be on the root of the SD card. DS games won't load in Folders. If you must have your games in a folder for some reason, there is another method. You must use Ysmenu Loader instead of AKAIO.[/b]

1. The latest version of Normmatt's loader loads from folders.
2. The latest version of Normmatt's loader apparently works with AK2i.
3. You spelled Normmatt wrong.

Use moonshell 2.05 o below will help... remember to delete logbuf.txt... good luck!!

eh, that was written in May. The latest loader wasn't even a sprinkle in Normmatt's eye.

Since this is a pretty important thread, can the OP edit the first post so that people don't think this will not work with ak 2i, especially since alternate methods involving ysmenu can potentially brick the acekard 2i?


As for me I still cannot get this to work. I get the system file missing error when I follow these instructions on my acekard 2i on a dsi.

Edit: my bad, the method liste dby OP does not work with ak 2i. It is not because Normatt's loader is not compatible since he release v1.0 which is compatible with AK 2i, but you cannot boot to moonshell by method described because it will give you missing system file error. At least this is my newbie understanding.

@ Vampirex: I said I'll let you know of an update - so here it is

There is now a "Moonshell 2.1beta9 with AKAIO 1.6RC2 Support" MAIO package (Yes that's right:- AKAIO 1.6RC2) on my thread (Once again many thanks to Xenon++ for the 'support fix')

Also I'd like to make an apology to all those who tried the 2.1b9 package & kept gettting errors on bootup
- I made a mistake of uploading the wrong package to Filetrip (It's now been fixed and replaced - hopefully)
The problem was that 2.1b9 doesn't like custom 'Splash.ani' files - & the pack I originally uploaded had my own custom splash causing MS to lock up

all my games are in its OWN folders is that good or bad? or must i have the games in a ROOT only

so i get the moonshell to load now, i had to DELETE all my games from the card first? 3gbs

1)is there a battery life icon skin on moonshell?
2) where can i put the games? my preference is in games folder with subfolders in it
