Hacking My friend needs help

He Is trying to load a backup disc through neogamma and he gets an error *No cios installed*
I would assume he needs to install ios 249 or 36 but would he have to go through the whole hacking process and install loads of other things?.

His wii is already modded but was done a few years ago but I don't think he would wan'/t to go through the whole process,
So no he can't just install 249 or 36?.

sounds like they updated through nintendo or disk update and it installed stub of 249 and probably an un-patched 36

Just start at the Trucha Bug Restorer, then install cIOS rev19.

when you get it or talk to them tell them to run signcheck or something like it and E-mail you the csv file and you can see what's going on with ios36 and 249
