Homebrew Need help getting Touhou DS working.

Since I'm not going to beat around the bush, I'll just go ahead and type in what's displayed in the error screen. (I'd really just like to get it playing so I can see what the hype is about it.)

That's not very helpful, but since I play Touhou DS myself I'll try to help you out.
First off, WHERE did it go wrong?

-Did you DLDI patch it?
-Are you on a DS or using iDeaS?
-Did you put everything in it's proper map?

As for the third question; I have a TouhouDS map in the root of my flashcard, in that map I have the .nds file, the font and mono files, and the bgm bomb cache chara games img score and snd maps.

Did you extract all to the root?

Lol i know exactly what the problem is (I made the same mistake) xP.

Make sure you put the 'TouhouDS' folder into the root of your card where your games are, NOT the TouhouDS-0.7 folder. Extra layers of folders would cause problems in starting up the game.

Did you try to download characters if so this is your problem since the download function is experimental and may not work, it doesn't work on my DSL, but everything else in the game works.

Hey, guys, sorry for lack of information, I was posting this as I was getting ready to do work I had to get back into my instructor. Anyway, I didn't put the .nds file into the root like I should have, so I'm going to fix that now and see if it will let me get any farther then the red error screen.

Is it just me or are you running it with dsorganise? if so it may be dsorganise that cant play it? its just cause the "Guru Meditation Error! Data abort!" thing is like what i get sometimes on ds organise

The red screen is libnds' built-in exception handler. It's comparable to the "this program has performed an illegal operation" message you sometimes get on when a program on a Windows machine crashes. It's caused by a bug in internal the installationCheck, it tries to load font files without checking whether or not they exist. The red screen gives information on where the crash occurred and what the state of the program was at that time.

The game relies on hardcoded paths for its files, so you need to copy the "TouhouDS" folder contained within the .7z file and copy it to the root of your flashcard. If the installation is correct, you'll have no more red screens.

The only file that you -are- allowed to move is "TouhouDS.nds" since it's loaded into memory automatically when you run it.

@CorruptedAngel: I don't have the dsorganize file on my cart, and probably won't download it.

Yeah, I had the .07 file version folder in the root of my folder instead of the Touhou folder. Since moving the Touhou folder
onto the root, it works fine now.
