After a decade of putting it off, I'm finally finishing up my Wii mod. I went with USB Loader GX because of it's abilities and versatility. I like all of the loaders capabilities but personally didn't need all of the buttons. I also felt that I wanted to rework the menu and make the GUI flow more for my wants and needs.

I'm a child of the 80's, so every Nintendo that came out after the NES was just a descendant of the original Nintendo Entertainment System. In my head the list goes like this:

NES
SNES
NES64
CubeNES
WiiNES

So naturally, I must dub this theme "Super WiiNES".

It's about 90% done. Have a bit more tweaking to do. I wanted to make it as true to form as I could for the Wii and it's era. The three big changes that make this theme different from any of the others out there are:

1) Pulled excess buttons. I figure if you need a button, revert back to vanilla theme. Trying to keep UX experience/flow clean here.
2) Stacked the buttons for the different cover flows into a rotation. Clicking in the same spot rotates through views. Seemed logical to me.
3) Added a custom center button. As Wii, GC, NAND, and vNAND are presented in main view, I wanted an easy way to access all my N64 and below emulators. Because USB Loader allows you to customize your homebrew folder path, this allowed me to make a custom emulator menu. Perfect.

This theme looks and works properly for both 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios.

My questions to you are:

Are there any other improvements I can/should make? Suggestions?

What do you guys think? Thanks.

P.S. Please ignore the burnt out pixels in the bottom right corner of the screen. That's what happens when you have a two year that really loves his show...

Were you able to release it? I think this looks very clean. Saw your post on Reddit as well, but no download links.

I hate ordering stuff online if I can go buy it somewhere close to me, and everywhere anymore will give you a discount only if you order it online, bs. Should be a discount if I go pick it up, not order online.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I love it for most things most stores you just shows the receipt online and they scan it

Makes it easy for incompetent restaurant staff that don't know how to hear an order
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Mostly for big purchases, I want it in my hands before I pay. Like a tv, I trust picking it up myself, before I'd trust it being sent thru mail/delivery. (Broken screen, etc) But yea if I can order online, then pickup at store is ok, but not all places offer that.

Thing is, if you break it driving back to your house, it's your fault. But if the delivery driver damages it, it's not your fault.

Most people that haul big tvs have empty trucks or know enough not to set it face down
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Then I gotta send it back and wait another week or two. I have a pickup truck, with a extended cab, so no prob for me.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Most manufacturers pack it well enough where they aren't that dumb to let it happen
