Tried it out had to hunt down to many plugins that was patched just for gen
soooo I have no use for it

M33 is a much better executed
FW and now both are lacking PSS access
and now are on par with each other

M33 is like a brand name now
gen is a knock off of it

I think we will see a 6.10 M33
with time as for the gen team
I think the next stable one will be after Dax makes one

cause the 5.00 to 5.50 is all that much different

And actually being aware of the history of the PSP Scene does have some relevance to releases. I'm pretty sure your implication from that first message is that those of us who opt for 5.00M33-6 rather than 5.50 GEN are slightly stupid....re-read what you actually wrote.

And Yuan....Yoshiro isn't officially part of the GEN team, he's always been a "homebrew developer". It's just handy that he came up with something to give Miriam (or whoever) more time for the GEN team to "save the day".

Actually it's thanks to Yoshiro who made the Games Decryptor. I don't think GEN had anything to do with it unless Yoshiro is a part of GEN. M33 compatibility since v3 was because of Revenge's EBOOT bin patcher.

Why would someone be stupid enough to run 5.00M33-6? Perhaps because they actually want a firmware that was made by someone who knew exactly what they were doing, rather than one made by cobbling bits together frankenstein style. I know that you're relatively new to the PSP but your arguments for not using M33 don't add up......GEN can't get on the PSN either(even though you don't even need to go on the PSN via your PSP) nor can it run undecrypted games. The only thing you appear to be hoping for is multiplayer gaming once more (which i have no interest in)

GEN team are nowhere near on par with DAX....all they've done is modify the M33 work that DAX had done in the past. All those waiting for some amazing firmware from GEN better have some kind of amazing breath holding skills....one of the staff on DAX's forums even showed how the hasty patching of GEN B firmware meant that it doesn't even uninstall correctly!

You've haven't even been around the PSP CFW "scene" for a year Brian...rather than criticise someone who has why not just hold the adjectives. Why do you think we've had all these patching/decrypting apps and bug fixes if GEN are really so great and Dax is such a loser? GEN are probably doing some fast learning about making CFW, and personally that's not the sort of firmware i'd want on my PSP.

I have no doubt that some form of patch/update will allow PSN access again, but putting your hopes in GEN is in my opinion as stupid as you think it is sticking with M33.

I'm using 5.00m33 and waiting for a new m33 firmware, although I know that it will take ages before it's released. GEN doesn't seem all that impressive to me and it's too much a hassle to update.

Honestly, M33 has been dead for a 2months+...DA said he was done for now. GEN is our future until there is possibly a huge update. Then there's a shot DA will come back to the scene.

Just to remind you that for people who has a Japanese PSP and custom firmware 5.50 GEN series will still able to go to the PlayStation Store I believe, so it didn't block to update due to a fact that the lastest official firmware (as of October 2009) for the Japanese PSPs is 5.50. (Well, the PSP Go will launch in Japan on November 1 this year.)

You just open up the port to the adress that your PSP uses and connect to Xlink Kai. step by step guide willv ary by people since each modem, even if same company, have different menus and wording.

I think 5.00 Gen C might have the psn and online play back but i'am not 100% sure.
