Hacking Original Xbox homebrew on 360?

no, without a JTAG all you can do is flash the firmware of your xbox 360's dvd drive to allow for backups.
nothing more, unfortunately...

well aside from XNA that is... if you can call that homebrew

I'm just wondering if its possible via the original Xbox emulator in combination with a flashed drive.

Xbox code is signed (none of the old exploits work either and I doubt there will be any new) and only JTAG machines can hack the original xbox emulator (would be JTAG users reading you actually have to install a hacked xbox 1 emulator- it is not part of anything freeboot does).

I will also mention even on a JTAG machine the homebrew does not work so well- many games have the emulator specially tweaked to work with it and homebrew has a nasty habit of pushing things to the limit.
