Pikachu Coloured Pichu is needed to get Spiky Eared Pichu in Ilex Forest in HG/SS...The event will still take place even if you have evolved the Shiny Pichu into a Pikachu or Raichu...

The Gamestop Distribution Cartridge contains both Pichu & Jirachi and distributes them based on the DS's internal clock...
