Yes. 2 new applications can do this and they were released today.
The new version of Gecko OS has support for GC games (http://wiinewz.com/forums/nintendo-news/71041-gecko-1-06f-ocarina-gamecube-game-support.html) and there is GC Booter (http://wiinewz.com/forums/nintendo-news/71037-gcbooter-v1-0-a.html)

theres also starlet 0.5 which lets you edit the wii registry(in a worded term) so that u never have to use a program ever again, you can boot from the main menu like you would with your own region games

That has to be the worst name for an application. Care to provide a link to the authors homepage?

Starfall is awesome, too bad it only works with 3.2 system menu
