What should I add to my party.

Typhlosion - 41
Ampharos - 37
Gyarados (Red) - 30

Is what I have currently, and I am up to battling the 7th Gym.

I also have Entei and Raikou, the Legendary Dogs.

The other 3 slots in my party are home to HM slaves.

So basically, what I'm asking is, which Pokemon(s) should I add to my party, which can be found and caught in the game before beating the 7th Gym, so that my party is one of great qualities.

Not sure why you would need 3 slots just for HM slaves. Normally, one is sufficient. But if it were me, I'd get a psychic pokemon. You can catch Abra, Drowzee and Natu long before the seventh gym.

I have beaten the elite four and have gotten half the kanto badges and I barely use my Lugia, its mainly for Fly, though without it I would have never beaten the elite four. Oh and I don't use an HM slave.

Substitute Lugia for a less-legendary flying type, and level up your Scizor.

Caught Lugia this morning, boy he was sure a tough one to catch.
Wasted 13 Poke Balls, 15 Great Balls, 10 Ultra Balls, 1 Dusk Ball, 1 Quick Ball and 10 Friend Balls (got to lose them somewhere) on him, the fucker still didn't go down.
He was in red health and was paralyzed. My Pokemon were from level 42-46, he was level 45.

Nothing else to do then use my Master Ball on him, I had no other balls left

So stupid, Lugia was quite easy to catch in Silver and I read here he was again easy to catch.
But not with me

Anyway, going to E4 and my team is complete:

- Typhlosion 44
- Ampharos 44
- Ampharos 43
- Dragonair 44
- Gengar 46
- Lugia 45

Going to win for sure, this is one of my best teams ever!
Just going to buy some Full Restores and Revives, then it's owning time!

I had Lugia on red and paralyzed, took me one ultra ball to catch him! Sorry that you had to use your master ball on him.
I found Suicune hard to catch, took me 70 ultra balls

Ok, so i have the extremespeed dragonite, but i was wondering. its moveset is ExtremeSpeed, Thunderbolt, Thunderwave, and Dragon Dance. But i definately think i need at least one more attack move. (I'm thinking Ice Beam, or some dragon attack). any suggestions?

Some suggestions on making my team a little more balanced? It's pretty good so far, but honestly, I just want to get rid of Lugia. I've been thinking of using Snorlax, but perhaps you guys have some better ideas for me.

Outrage, assuming you're using Dragonite. More PP (if that matters to you), and it doesn't hurt your stats after you use it like Draco does. It does confuse you though...

It always confuses. Something like a lum berry or persim berry will help get rid of that though (if only once).

Agreed, though for some reason some of my pokemon seem to hurt themselves more often than others. I haven't found anything bout an emo stat yet, though

don't dismiss outrage straight away.
you have to use the attack twice in a row, and only after the 2nd time your pokemon gets confused.
after that you can either retreat it, or use a confusion cure item.
