Title. Attempted to do so several times. Both Switches are using legitimate copies of Violet, a cartridge on the hacked switch and an eShop purchase on the non hacked Switch. I updated everything on the hacked switch, including the game itself, so I have no idea what could be wrong. Any help?

Make sure both unit are offline from online service, it won't work if the non hacked unit is online and make sure that both system game update are up to date.
Okay so I swear I updated it on the emuNAND, but apparently it isn't - the Settings thing says it's still 1.0.0. Which explains... everything. However, I don't want to update on the emuNAND if there's any risks involved. I literally don't even have a Nintendo account on the hacked Switch, but I'm sure there's plenty of other risks I'm unaware of beyond banning and bricking.
You can do a system match game update if you don't want to goline to look for the game update.

Yea but to play the next gen games, you must have those games on internal, or buy the official ssd expansion cards, which are expensive -

On the series s/x you can use a external HD but any next gen games must be on your internal ssd, or you can buy a ssd expansion card, but pricey. Any xbone, 360, or og Xbox games can be played from external tho.
